There was no surprise in Buenos Aires where 12th ranked Penarol (19-18) was defeated by fifth ranked Boca (24-13) 92-82. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Leonel Schattmann (193-1987) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 assists. The former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Boca's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Penarol. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boca have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 24-13 record. Penarol at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Riachuelo LR. Boca will play against Comunicaciones (#17) in Mercedes in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Penarol will play on the road against Obras (#7) in Buenos Aires and hopes to get back on the winning track.
