Rather predictable result when second ranked Guaiqueries (8-5) won against 5th ranked Cangrejeros (2-9) in Porlamar 74-67 on Sunday. The winners were led by American-Nigerian swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-1994, college: UCF) who scored that evening 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-1987, college: Marquette) supported him with 16 points. Even 15 points by swingman Morris Sierralta (190-1987) did not help to save the game for Cangrejeros. Dominican forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Guaiqueries went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Panteras and Brillantes. Loser Cangrejeros dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Diablos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
