Bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-44 loss to second ranked San Salvador (7-5) in San Salvador. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana 2's 26. San Salvador forced 22 Santa Ana 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 57-33 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Elisa Dominguez (165-2000) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Melany Sanchez (167-2004) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Sofia Zavala (167-2005) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Santa Ana 2. San Salvador maintains second place with 7-5 record having five points less than leader Santa Tecla 2. Santa Ana 2 lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost.
