Regular Season Round 16: Gladiadores - Gigantes 91-79

Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Gigantes (3-8) lost to first ranked Gladiadores (11-2) in Caracas 79-91 on Sunday. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by swingman David Nickelberry (201-1998, college: Buffalo) who scored that evening 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) supported him with 20 points. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by point guard DaQuan Brooks (177-1990, college: W.Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Forward Jamison Elder (196-1998, college: Shawnee St.) added 13 points for lost side. Five Gladiadores and four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gladiadores maintains first position with 11-2 record. Gigantes lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Gladiadores will meet Marinos (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Gigantes will have a break next round.
