Rather expected game when 6th ranked Venados (10-12) lost to fourth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (10-12) in Mazatlan 85-95 on Tuesday. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for Anthony Young (200-1989, college: KWC) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Spencer Williams (188-1995, college: Wooster) accounted for 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Guard Jalek Felton (190-1998, college: UNC) came up with 17 points and power forward Alex Kaye Williams (203-1993) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Venados in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Venados' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tijuana Zonkeys have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 10-12 record, which they share with Mazatlan and Guaymas. Tijuana Zonkeys will meet at home Pioneros Los Mochis (#7) in the next round. Venados will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and hope to secure a win.
