Regular Season Round 22: Gladiadores - Diablos 85-83

Eighth-ranked Diablos (3-12) were very close to win a game against first ranked Gladiadores (15-2) in Caracas on Wednesday. Gladiadores managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. 24 personal fouls committed by Diablos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import swingman David Nickelberry (201-1998, college: Buffalo) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dominican point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997) replied with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Argentinian Salvador Giletto (195-1993) added 20 points in the effort for Diablos. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gladiadores have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-2 record. Diablos at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. Gladiadores are looking forward to face Piratas (#4) in La Guaira in the next round. Diablos will have a break next round.
