Fourteenth-ranked Tinguiririca (3-21) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Quilicura (13-10) in San Fernando on Thursday. The visitors from Quilicura managed to secure only three-point victory 117-114. However their fans expected much easier game. Quilicura shot 64.2 percent from the field and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Quilicura looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international guard Pablo Coro (190-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 40 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Facundo Fernandez chipped in 29 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni responded with 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard Felipe Gonzalez Flores (180-1994) scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Four Quilicura and five Tinguiririca players scored in double figures. Quilicura have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 13-10 record. Tinguiririca lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. Quilicura will meet at home league's leader Concepcion in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tinguiririca will play against Valdivia (#6) and hope to secure a win.
