The game between Top Four teams took place in Caracas. First ranked host Gladiadores (16-2) smashed 4th placed Piratas (9-4) 82-61. It was an exceptional evening for American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Gregory Vargas (181-1986, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 17 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Gladiadores players scored in double figures. Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (190-1992) came up with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Piratas in the defeat. Piratas' coach Melvyn Lopez gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Gladiadores have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. Piratas at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. Gladiadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play on the road against Cangrejeros (#9) in Maturin and hope to get back on the winning track.
