Regular Season Round 9: CAN Oruro - La Paz 98-79

The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked CAN Oruro as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CAN Oruro smashed 8th ranked La Paz at home 98-79. American point guard Detrek Browning (183, college: FMU, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Deondre Wade (193, college: Seminole St.) chipped in 24 points and 12 rebounds. CAN Oruro's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Khalid Bowman (201-1999, college: Dominican, NY) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Claudio Gonzales (193-2004) scored 21 points. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. La Paz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. La Paz will play next round against strong Pichincha trying to get back on the winning streak. CAN Oruro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
