Regular Season Round 8: LSB - Santo Andre 53-69

There was no surprise when 5th ranked LSB (3-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Santo Andre (5-3) 69-53 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Vanessa Goncalves (185-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Tassia Carcavalli (176-1992) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Santo Andre players scored in double figures. International forward Thayna Silva (180-1996) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Mayara Crystina (174-1997) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. LSB's coach Raphael Zaremba tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Santo Andre maintains third position with 5-3 record having just three points less than leader Sesi/Arara. LSB lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Catanduva and Vera Cruz. Santo Andre will meet bottom-ranked Ituano (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. LSB will play against Catanduva (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
