Regular Season Round 6: Libertad A. - Campo Alto 97-56

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: Libertad A. (#3) and Campo Alto (#7). Libertad A. (4-2) smashed visiting Campo Alto (1-5) by 41 points 97-56. Libertad A. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Campo Alto's 26. Libertad A. forced 21 Campo Alto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Campo Alto's players. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Jorge Sequera (194-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. International point guard Jorge Martinez (178-1998) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Nelson Peralta (198-1988) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Santiago Peralta (183-2000) added 12 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Libertad A. maintains third position with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader San Jose. Campo Alto lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. Libertad A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Felix Perez.
