Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Marinos (5-12) defeated 10th ranked Cangrejeros (3-14) in Puerto La Cruz 97-92 on Tuesday. Marinos made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Dominican point guard Adris De Leon (180-1984, college: EWU) nailed 28 points and 7 assists for the winning side and Dominican Yeison Colome (190-1996) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American Akeem Ellis (196-1990, college: Coppin St.) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Morris Sierralta (190-1987) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Cangrejeros in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Marinos maintains eighth place with 5-12 record.
