There was an upset when second-ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (15-13) lost at home to seventh ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (10-18) 103-97 on Wednesday. Pioneros Los Mochis had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) notched 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American guard Kennedy Jones (188-1989, college: Arlington Baptist) supported him with 15 points. Even a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds by American forward Johnny Hughes III (203-1997, college: UIW) did not help to save the game for Caballeros de Culiacan. Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros Los Mochis maintains seventh position with 10-18 record.
