Regular Season Round 26: Trotamundos - Taurinos 103-86

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Trotamundos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Trotamundos defeated 9th ranked Taurinos in La Asuncion 103-86. Trotamundos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American forward Dwayne Davis (196-1989, college: Southern Miss) scored 30 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Mario Little (198-1987, college: Kansas) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists during the contest. Jean Payen (193-2003) responded with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Jhonder Gomez (196-2002) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Trotamundos and five Taurinos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trotamundos (15-5) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Taurinos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Taurinos will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Trotamundos will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Llaneros in Caracas.
