Regular Season Round 7: San Jose - Campo Alto 95-56

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#1) and Campo Alto (#7). San Jose (7-0) crushed visiting Campo Alto (1-6) by 39 points 95-56. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Campo Alto's 20. They outrebounded Campo Alto 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. San Jose players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Campo Alto's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Alen Juarez who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Federico Ibarra contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four San Jose players scored in double figures. San Jose's coach Daniel Cano felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Martin Mainero (189-1990) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Nelson Peralta (198-1988) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Campo Alto. San Jose have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Campo Alto lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Atletico C..
