Not a big story in a game in Caracas where 9th ranked Diablos (4-15) were defeated by fifth ranked Spartans (11-8) 97-79 on Friday. Spartans shot 64.2 percent from the field and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Spartans had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Spartans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spartans made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Dominican swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international Jose Rodriguez (197-1994) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Edry Gonzalez (185-1998) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Dominican point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997) scored 22 points and 4 assists. Four Diablos players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartans moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guaiqueries. Diablos lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost.
