There was no surprise in Monterrey where Freseras were crushed by Fuerza Regia 90-63 on Friday. Fuerza Regia made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Fuerza Regia outrebounded Freseras 54-35 including 40 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Delicia Washington (178-1997, college: Clemson) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and her fellow American import center Ciera Johnson (190-1997, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Qadashah Hoppie (170-1999, college: Texas A&M) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and Costa Rican guard Daniela Quesada (168-1997, college: Salem) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fuerza Regia will meet Halcones in the next round. Freseras will play against Panteras and hope to win that game.
