Regular Season Round 27: Llaneros - Guaros 72-96

There was no surprise in Caracas where 8th ranked Llaneros (7-13) were crushed by third ranked Guaros (15-5) 96-72 on Saturday. Guaros made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jermaine Love (190-1989, college: UIS) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points. Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian guard Julian Ruiz (185-1998) with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-1996, college: High School) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Guaros. They moved-up to second place. Loser Llaneros keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Guaros will meet at home Gaiteros (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Llaneros' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Broncos.
