Not a big story in a game in Aguascalientes where Astros were outplayed by Panteras 90-65 on Saturday. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Samantha Fuehring (191, college: Louisville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Joy Adams (180-1993, college: Iona) responded with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and center Jewel Tunstull (190-1992, college: Northeastern) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras will meet Freseras in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astros will play against Libertadores and hope to win that game.
