Rather expected game in Juana Diaz where 5th ranked Leones (7-13) were defeated by second ranked Atleticos (13-7) 88-73 on Sunday. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who scored 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Josue Erazo (204-1995, college: PR-Rio Piedras) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) who recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Aleem Ford (203-1996, college: Wisconsin) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Atleticos and four Leones players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atleticos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-7 record behind leader Quebradillas. Leones lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Atleticos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leones will play against the league's leader Piratas (#1) in Quebradillas and hope to secure a win.
