Regular Season Round 6: Corsarios - Bucaros 47-108

An interesting game for Bucaros (4-2) which played road game in Cartagena against 4th ranked Corsarios (0-4). Third ranked Bucaros had an easy win 108-47. Bucaros dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Corsarios' 26. They outrebounded Corsarios 46-33 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bucaros players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Corsarios' players. The former international forward Stalin Ortiz (190-1981, college: Valpo) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Miguel Bermudez (195-1992) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Bucaros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian center Guillermo Saavedra (200-1986) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Yeison Toro (200) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bucaros have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cimarrones. Corsarios at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Sabios and Motilones.
