There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (16-16) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (12-20) 91-86 on Tuesday. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Roddy Peters (193-1995, college: Nicholls St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Antwon Lillard (198-1995, college: BGSU) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Lillard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jarron Cumberland (196-1997, college: Cincinnati) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Teyvion Kirk (193-1999, college: UIC) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Ostioneros de Guaymas maintains seventh position with 12-20 record. Loser Caballeros de Culiacan keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Tijuana. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet at home league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
