Not a big story in a game in Puerto Ordaz where 10th ranked Cangrejeros (3-18) were defeated by seventh ranked Gigantes (8-12) 97-88 on Tuesday. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Osbel Caraballo (196-1998, college: STAC) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and American point guard DaQuan Brooks (177-1990, college: W.Connecticut) who added 14 points and 12 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Duke Mondy (193-1990, college: Oakland, agency: BIG) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import Akeem Ellis (196-1990, college: Coppin St.) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gigantes maintains seventh position with 8-12 record. Cangrejeros lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
