Regular Season Round 28: Guaiqueries - Panteras 60-83

There was a small surprise in Porlamar where sixth ranked Panteras (11-10) outleveled 4th ranked Guaiqueries (12-9) 83-60 on Tuesday. Worth to mention a great performance of American Elijah Minnie (206-1994, college: EMU) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and Argentinian Javier Saiz (206-1994) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Minnie is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. At the losing side Luis Valera (195-1997) responded with 20 points and the former international Gendry Correa (190-1996) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras maintains sixth position with 11-10 record. Loser Guaiqueries keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Panteras will meet Marinos (#8) in the next round. Guaiqueries will play against Diablos (#9) and hope to secure a win.
