Date: May 11, 2023
Very expected game in Cochabamba where 9th ranked La Paz (2-7) was crushed by fifth ranked San Simon (5-4) 109-75 on Thursday. San Simon outrebounded La Paz 63-34 including a 48-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Argentinian Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Forward Andres Trujillo (184-1999) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Five San Simon players scored in double figures. Cuban center Dariel Maza (-1991) produced 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Claudio Gonzales (193-2004) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. San Simon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with CAN Oruro and Saracho. La Paz lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost.
