Regular Season Round 2: Correcaminos - Adelitas 80-104

No shocking result in a game when Adelitas smashed on the road Correcaminos 104-80 on Friday. Adelitas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 44. The game was also dominated by American players. Center Danielle Adams (185-1989, college: Texas A&M) scored 32 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Guard Jade Vega (165-1997, college: CS Fullerton) responded with 21 points and guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Adelitas and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelitas will meet at home Astros in the next round where they are favorite. Correcaminos will play against Abejas in Leon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
