Rather predictable result in Jalisco where Libertadores beat Astros 71-61 on Saturday. Libertadores made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Australian guard Madeleine Garrick (180-1992) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Stephanie Kostowicz (188-1995, college: Milwaukee) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Libertadores players scored in double figures. Libertadores' coach Sandro Orlando used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Jaelyn Brown (184, college: California) responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-1995, college: Texas) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Astros will play against Adelitas in Chihuahua and hope to win that game.
