Regular Season Round 3: Potters S. - Slam 77-56

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Slam's (2-2) road loss to Potters S. (4-1) 56-77 on Saturday. Potters S. forced 42 Slam turnovers. Strangely Slam outrebounded Potters S. 72-48 including a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Potters S. made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Cohen Desouza who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Welsh point guard Jacob Lloyd (183-1994, college: Harris-Stowe St.) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ezekiel Francois (-2001) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds and Dominican Shawn Thomas added 6 points and 19 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Potters S. will meet Baldwin Braves (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Slam will play against Cutie Ovals and hope to secure a win.
