Regular Season Round 6: Truenos - Univ.Concepcion 54-71

Everything went according to plan in Talca where top-ranked Univ.Concepcion (4-0) beat bottom-ranked Truenos (0-3) 71-54 on Saturday. Univ.Concepcion forced 27 Truenos turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Jovanka Ljubetic (178-2000) who scored 21 points. The former international forward Barbara Cousino (178-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican Jazmin Sepulveda (178-1985, college: S.Florida) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Lia Correa (-1997) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Univ.Concepcion have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alemana P. and Frontera. Loser Truenos still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Llolleo. Univ.Concepcion will meet at home league's leader Frontera in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Truenos will play against Temuco (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
