Regular Season Round 6: Frontera - Laja 129-25

There was no surprise in Temuco where bottom-ranked Laja (0-4) was outplayed by top-ranked Frontera (4-0) 129-25 on Saturday. Frontera held Laja to an opponent 17.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Frontera forced 55 Laja turnovers and outrebounded them 54-23 including a 20-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Laja's players. The best player for the winners was Catalina Peters (-2001) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Forward Florencia Obreque chipped in 25 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. Five Frontera players scored in double figures. Frontera's coach Karol Quinones felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Stefani Sandoval who recorded 8 points and 11 rebounds and Camila Gomez (-1993) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Frontera have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Alemana P. and Univ.Concepcion. Loser Laja still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Frontera will meet league's second-placed Univ.Concepcion on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Laja will have a break next round.
