The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Trotamundos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Trotamundos defeated 9th ranked Taurinos in La Asuncion 82-71. Trotamundos looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Mario Little (198-1987, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. International Edgar Martinez (199-1997) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Trotamundos players scored in double figures. Trotamundos' coach Guillermo Narvarte used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Jorge Querales responded with 30 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward Adrian Espinoza (210-1997) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Trotamundos (19-5) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Taurinos lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Cangrejeros. Taurinos will play next round against strong Broncos trying to get back on the winning streak. Trotamundos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
