Regular Season Round 27: Mayaguez - Arecibo 95-103

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mayaguez. 4th placed host Indios (10-14) lost to third ranked Capitanes (13-9) 103-95. Capitanes shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was a great evening for American power forward Paris Bass (207-1995, college: Detroit) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). International swingman Jonathan Rodriguez (196-1987, college: Campbell) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Chaundee Brown Jr (196-1998, college: Michigan) with 28 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Jordan Cintron (203-1998, college: Niagara) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Five Capitanes and four Indios players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Carolina. Indios at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Capitanes is looking forward to face Cangrejeros (#4) in Santurce in the next round. Indios will play on the road against Osos in Manati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
