Not a big story in a game in Carolina where 5th ranked Cariduros (9-15) were defeated by second ranked Gigantes (13-9) 93-81 on Tuesday. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) who recorded 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Alexander Abreu (179-1991, college: UWG) added 2 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five Gigantes and four Cariduros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gigantes maintains second place with 13-9 record having just two points less than leader Quebradillas, which they share with Arecibo. Cariduros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 15 games lost. Gigantes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cariduros will play against the league's leader Vaqueros (#1) and hope to secure a win.
