The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Mets' (12-12) road loss to third ranked Cangrejeros (14-10) 90-102 on Friday. Cangrejeros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard David Stockton (180-1991, college: Gonzaga) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 assists for the winners and the former international forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) chipped in 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Brazilian-American center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) scored 24 points. Four Mets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cangrejeros have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Mets keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Cangrejeros will meet league's leader Piratas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mets will play against Capitanes in Arecibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
