Regular Season Round 3: Panteras - Halcones 91-69

Panteras (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed Halcones (1-5) in Aguascalientes 91-69. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Halcones' 22 and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a quality performance for American forward Samantha Fuehring (191, college: Louisville) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Latvian center Kristine Vitola (196-1991, college: UTEP) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Panteras players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican guard Brianna Jones (177-1997, college: Georgetown, agency: Shark Sports Management) came up with 18 points and 4 steals and Venezuelan point guard Roselis Silva (166-1991, college: Arkansas Tech) added 11 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Halcones in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras will meet Plateras (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Halcones will play against Libertadores and hope to win that game.
