There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Gigantes (8-17) were edged by ninth ranked Diablos (7-19) in Caracas 85-83 on Saturday. Naturalized Dominican power forward Jhoyfer Diaz (200-1987) notched 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Argentinian Salvador Giletto (195-1993) supported him with 13 points. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by American-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Ocasio (196-1992, college: New Haven) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Forward Albert Arias (194-1989) added 15 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diablos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Gigantes lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 17 games lost.
