Regular Season Round 7: Temuco - Truenos 86-70

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Truenos (0-4) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Temuco (3-2) 86-70 on Saturday. Temuco dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Truenos' 32. Temuco forced 20 Truenos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Jessica Martino (175-2000, college: Delaware St.) fired 32 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Francisca Barria (-1996) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Temuco players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican Jazmin Sepulveda (178-1985, college: S.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Estephania Muena (-2000) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Temuco maintains fourth place with 3-2 record. Truenos lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Llolleo and Laja. Temuco's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Temuco to the arena Frontera.
