A very close game took place in Fajardo between Gigantes and Cariduros. Third ranked Gigantes (14-10) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Cariduros (10-17). Gigantes managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Sunday evening. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was international center George Conditt IV (208-2000, college: Iowa St.) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Jesus Cruz (196-1998, college: Fairfield) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Gigantes' coach Carlos Gonzalez used entire bench in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Eric Griffin (203-1990, college: Campbell) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import center Thomas Robinson (208-1991, college: Kansas) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Gigantes moved-up to second place. Loser Cariduros keep the fifth position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
