Regular Season Round 6: Tomas L. - Liceo PN 62-83
Date: May 21, 2023
There was no surprise in San Fernando where 7th ranked Tomas L. (1-4) was crushed by top-ranked Liceo PN (6-0) 83-62 on Sunday. Liceo PN forced 20 Tomas L. turnovers and outrebounded them 56-32 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Sebastian Silva (187-1996) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian center Franco Barroso (207-1994) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Liceo PN players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Andres Lavin (-1995) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ivan Bravo (-2000) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Liceo PN have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Loser Tomas L. dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Boston College and Brisas. Liceo PN will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tomas L. will play against Truenos (#5) in Talca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
