Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#2) and Sol de America (#8). Sol de America was smashed at home by 63 points 58-121 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Olimpia K. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de America's 32. Olimpia K. forced 22 Sol de America turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 52.9 percentage. Olimpia K. looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sol de America's players. The winners were led by the former international forward Gabriel Peralta (203-1995) who scored that evening 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and Fabrizio Diaz supported him with 13 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. Five Olimpia K. players scored in double figures. Olimpia K.'s coach Carlos Romano felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Nicolas Escurra did not help to save the game for Sol de America. Juan Marti added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Olimpia K. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader San Jose. Loser Sol de America stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Olimpia K.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose.
