An interesting game for Storm (8-1) which played road game in Quibdo-Choco against 3rd placed Cimarrones (5-5). First ranked Storm had an easy win 75-52. Storm outrebounded Cimarrones 40-26 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jamaican-Canadian guard Jabs Newby (188-1991, college: Gannon) nailed 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Romario Roque (180-1998) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Storm players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Poole (196-1992, college: Iona) came up with 17 points and Gianfranco Espinosa added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cimarrones in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Storm. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Loser Cimarrones keep the third position with five games lost. Storm will meet league's second-placed Cafeteros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cimarrones will play against Team Cali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
