Regular Season Round 4: Halcones - Libertadoras 90-91

The most exciting game of round 4 in the LNBPF took place in Xalapa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Halcones (2-6) to third ranked Libertadores (6-2) 91-90 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Libertadores shot 62.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Libertadores especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Libertadores made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Stephanie Kostowicz (188-1995, college: Milwaukee) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks and Italian forward Marzia Tagliamento (183-1996) who added 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. Libertadores' coach Sandro Orlando used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Nigerian forward Amy Okonkwo (188-1996, college: TCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Roselis Silva (166-1991, college: Arkansas Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Libertadores and five Halcones players scored in double figures. Libertadores moved-up to second place, which they share with Adelitas. Halcones at the other side keep the eighth position with six games lost.
