A very close game took place in Guaynabo between Mets and Indios. Fourth ranked Mets (14-12) got a very close home victory over their close opponent Indios (11-17). Mets managed to escape with a 2-point win 117-115 in the fight for the third place. Mets made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward DeMarcus Cousins (211-1990, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Brazilian-American center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American forward DJ Hogg (203-1996, college: Texas A&M) responded with 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Jorge Pacheco-Ortiz (186-1998, college: Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Indios' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mets moved-up to third place, which they share with Arecibo. Loser Indios keep the fourth position with 17 games lost. Mets will meet at home league's second-placed Cangrejeros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Indios will have a break next round.
