Regular Season Round 8: Univ. Austral - Osorno 57-41

Everything could happen in Puerto Montt at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Univ. Austral and one of their biggest challengers Osorno had identical 2-3 record. This time Univ. Austral used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Osorno 57-41 on Saturday night. Univ. Austral forced 22 Osorno turnovers. The winners were led by Nicoll Ojeda (-1993) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Paula Ortiz (-2003) supported her with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 20 rebounds by Argentinian Jacqueline Soto did not help to save the game for Osorno. Nicol Figueroa added 2 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Univ. Austral (3-3) moved-up to fourth place. Osorno lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
