There was no surprise in Talca where 5th ranked Truenos (1-5) were defeated by third ranked Infinito (5-2) 74-59 on Sunday. Infinito looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Millaray Torres (-2005) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Barbara Torres (168-2003) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican Jazmin Sepulveda (178-1985, college: S.Florida) who recorded 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Estefania Munoz (-1996) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Infinito have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-2 record having just three point less than leader CDSC, which they share with Puente Alto. Loser Truenos keep the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Pankull. Infinito will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Truenos will play against Laja (#7) in Concepcion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
