Very predictable result when fourth ranked Astros (7-3) rolled over on the road 10th ranked Correcaminos (1-7) 81-62 on Monday. They outrebounded Correcaminos 44-19 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Center Jewel Tunstull (190-1992, college: Northeastern) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-1995, college: Texas) accounted for 22 points. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Astros' coach Jonathan Villegas used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Brittany Byrd (176-1997, college: UIC) came up with 25 points and guard Jade Vega (165-1997, college: CS Fullerton) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Correcaminos in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Astros. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Adelitas. Loser Correcaminos keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Astros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play against Freseras (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
