Top ranked Piratas (19-8) recorded its eighth loss in Mayaguez on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Indios (12-17) 84-79. Indios forced 20 Piratas turnovers. The best player for the winners was international forward Jordan Cintron (203-1998, college: Niagara) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Jorge Pacheco-Ortiz (186-1998, college: Liberty) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Hassan Whiteside (213-1989, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and the former international forward Carlos Emory (196-1991) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios maintains fourth place with 12-17 record. Piratas at the other side still keep top position with eight games lost. Indios are looking forward to face Leones (#6) in Juana Diaz in the next round.
