Regular Season Round 11: Team Cali - Cafeteros 98-92

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cafeteros (8-2) against fourth ranked Team Cali (5-7) on Wednesday night. Visiting Cafeteros were defeated by Team Cali in a tough game in Cali 92-98. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cafeteros. Cafeteros were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Chilean guard Franco Morales (179-1992) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). Greek power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (202-1994) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Team Cali players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208, college: Texas A&M) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American guard JaQuaylon Mays (185-2000, college: Fort Lewis) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Cafeteros. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Team Cali maintains fourth place with 5-7 record. Cafeteros at the other side still keep top position with two games lost.
