No shocking result in a game in Fresnillo where third ranked Adelitas (9-3) won against 10th ranked Plateras (2-8) 72-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Spanish guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Jazmine Jones (183-1996, college: Louisville) who recorded 14 points and 5 assists and her fellow American import center Vionise Pierre-Louis (193-1995, college: Oklahoma) added 13 points respectively. Adelitas maintains third position with 9-3 record behind leader Libertadores. Plateras lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Abejas and Correcaminos. Adelitas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Plateras will play against Halcones (#7) in Xalapa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
