There was no surprise in Santiago where bottom-ranked Llolleo (0-6) was crushed by second ranked Leones (5-1) 106-57 on Saturday. Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Llolleo's 20. Leones forced 31 Llolleo turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Llolleo's players. American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Martina Orellana (170-2004) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four Leones players scored in double figures. At the losing side Ingrid Carrasco (-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Barbara Rodriguez (-2001) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gimnastico. Loser Llolleo still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Larr Valdivia. Leones will meet at home Sportiva Ita. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Llolleo will play against New Crusaders in Valparaíso and hopes to get finally their first victory.
